At home in the Wilderness

When I have finished doing my artworks for Paper Pushers show & Fractured Fables contribution book (Image Comics), I continued creating my art commission for my kind great client Dary. He requested me to portray him, his wonderful beautiful wife and adorable Kara, their cat Yoda, plushies, favorite animals, cherry blossom, more. So I studied their portraits, elements, colors, animals, everything before I made my rough thumbnails.

Dary, his wife Paige and daughter Kara.
Beautiful family.

Their fat handsome cat male Yoda. I wanna cuddle him.

They take their plushies Dragon, Squirrel and Goat Troll when they travel. Good charms, indeed.

And more great requests (cherry blossom tree, bunnies, pandas, nature, more which I received from Dary. Another more photos.

I guess I rushed my painting for 9 days straightly (sometimes I missed my food schedule and I had less sleep, eep) because Dary needed to surprise his wife and Kara on X'mas Day... So I was totally relieved that he received it shortly. Hooray, my mission accomplished. I really enjoyed discussing with Dary about art. Now you see crazy tired Mall below.

Whew... I never realize that I received more, more art projects this 2009 year. I want to thank you guys for visiting, enjoying and supporting my art, I feel so honored and grateful. I also greatly thank God for everything. Whatever I had stressing art time / deadlines, I can do anything through Him who strengthens me. Hopefully, I'll have more good art projects in 2010 year. Merry Christmas to all of you, Happy New Year and Happy Holidays!

And coming up, well yeah... I never stop doing my art... here's my sneak peek for the 4 - person show in February 2010 @Gallery1988, San Francisco. Wish me luck. I know, I know, don't worry, I'll take more rest soon and I'll definitely continue working on my listed commissions next year. See you guys in 2010! Ciao!

And I also created my colored ones. I remembered my colorful creature when I was a little tanned girl. I always played with my creature in my beach, I kept giggling a lot. In a real life, I saw a few different creatures: violet, green, black / white, red and sometimes blue. I tried to touch them but they were shy... Then they ran away cutely slowly, weeeee... The real creature is Nudibranchia (yes, it's real!). Please check the Wikipedia about Nudibranch. That's why my creature really inspires me very much, I dig on their marvelous colors, patterns, textures, more. I got an idea that I tried to combine cat fish and nudibranchia into cute character, hehehe! I love it!

How are you all doing? I'm so sorry for not writing my blog updates last November month because I was struggling with art deadlines. November really gave me a big crazy busyness... but I enjoyed doing my new challenges. After I have finished my original works for Paper Pushers show, I continued doing my new comic project for the contribution book "Fractured Fables" from Silverline Books, among great comic artists. Yes, I was surprisingly invited by Image Comics co-creators Whilce Portacio, Jim Valentino and Kristen Simon about the Fractured Fables comic book past few months ago! Sigh, This is an unexpected blessing for me.... Whew, I was super happy-cry (yes, I cried 'coz of my hurt tired right hand!) that I have finished my colored 8-comic pages before the deadliest deadline, hoho! Here's my sneak peek of my comic, "The Fox and The Cat". My mission is accomplished, hooray! In the future, I really hope I could be good at making comics.

Anyway, I will not post my whole comics, sorry. I'll keep you guys updated when the full-color hardcover books will be released next year. And my webcam pic of tired me and my current 14" X 20" commissioned painting for my client Dary. I'll post it when it will be done soon. Whew, that's all folks. I can't wait to take a break from my crazy art schedule. Ciao!
